Birken Books: The Knife of Never Letting Go

This is one if my favorite books, because of the beautiful writing of Patrick Ness and thought provoquing story. It is the story of Todd, a young boy and how he discovers the sinister truth behind his town. In this dystopian book , the town is special because there are no women and what happened to them was forgotten long ago. That is not the only strange thing at work; you can also hear thoughts, everything every man and animal in the town. The Noise is constant and without respite. Young Todd must discover the truth behind his parents death, why all the men in the village emerge changed after the coming of age ceremony, the truth behind the Spackle, the supposed alien enemies, and where are all the women. He must find out if the Town is truly alone, like they are lead to believe and leave before it's too late.
